Sweeeeet Corn!
SWEET SATURDAY
06/29/12 Update
Tonight I tried the method shown in the video for cooking and shucking corn for dinner and wanted to share my findings with you.
Let’s just say I will never make corn any other way again. This method is fantastic!
The corn not only cooks well but it is so easy to remove the husks and every bit of the silks with absolutely no problem. Please do yourself a favor and view the video if you haven’t already done so. [I'm sorry if you had trouble getting to the video before but I've fixed that here.]
Rick and I love having sweet corn this time of year because it’s fresh and usually on sale somewhere in our area. And let’s not talk about all that creamy butter that just enhances the taste!
I don’t think I’m alone in disliking the chore of shucking the corn because it is practically impossible to remove all the silk. I think we would enjoy it for dinner more often if there was an easy way to perform this nasty task.
Yep, you guessed it—there is! The other day I saw this video of how to use a microwave to cook and then easily remove the husk and silk. I am definitely going to try this out!
Sweet! Happy and easy shucking to all of you!
