More Pinkness!

I thought today called for a little more pinkness, so I found this gorgeous tulip bouquet on Pinterest.

Isn’t it beautiful?

Happy December!

merry_christmas_vector_pink…..

It has always seemed such a quick transition from Thanksgiving to the Christmas season, and when Thanksgiving falls so close to the end of November as it did this year, that transition feels like the blink of an eye.

My original plan was to put out the Christmas decorations this weekend but that will have to be postponed for a week or so. I’ve been trying to live joyfully in spite of being in a CFIDS flare, which means even more rest and sleep time than usual. I am finding that on days like today when I only have a migraine plus the immense fatigue, I can do some kind of household task for 15 to 20 minutes, and then I need to rest for a half hour or so.

Don’t be sad for me though. A good portion of my rest time is spent crocheting, and that makes me happy because I can do something worthwhile! And since we’re approaching Christmas, I’ve been busy with gift projects and that makes me even more happy!

In this season of my life, I don’t get out much. If I do, it’s to the local grocery store where I can do some shopping at the same time I pick up my prescriptions. It’s the closest thing to multitasking I’m able to do these days but it works out great for me.

I hope your Thanksgiving was filled with joy, happiness and gratitude as you gathered around the dinner table with family and maybe friends to thank God for the myriad of blessings He bestows on us each and every day. For those of you who could not be with your family or who were not able to celebrate Thanksgiving for any reason, remember that you are a part of God’s family and as such you are utterly precious in His sight! Remember, He will never leave you or forsake you.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified…for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. —Deuteronomy 31:6

Happy December, Beloved!

Sweet Pink Plaid

SWEET SATURDAY

I haven’t shared anything pink with you lately so today’s the day! I love hats and have a collection of them as you can see here on my pink teddy hat tree:

Poor teddy! He looks a bit loaded down, doesn’t he? Rick gave him to me for Valentine’s Day awhile back (hmm… I see “2006” on his left paw, so it was indeed a while ago!).  One day I plopped one of my hats on his head and that started things off.

The pink plaid cabbie hat on top is my latest purchase. Isn’t it sweet? I love the fact that it’s pink and plaid—two of my fave things wrapped into one! What’s not to like about that?

My straw Scala hat is MIA from this stack but never fear: I still have it and love it because of the special band inside that keeps it from blowing off my head. And since we do have a lot of wind up our way, that is something to take very seriously!

Right now it’s hanging on a hook by the patio door so I can quickly put it on before going outside. I love our ceiling fan on the patio above the conversation area but my allergy eyes do not love the breeze from that fan. If I don’t cover my head to keep the breeze off my face, my eyes leak the whole time I’m sitting out there. And that’s no fun.

So … that’s my hat story and I’m stickin with it!

Sweet and Pink!

I have now had my Nook Color e-reader for over a year and I can honestly say I really love it. When e-readers first came out, I could not see myself with one because I love everything about books: the feel of a brand-new one; turning each page; even the smell of the ink and paper. So I scoffed at the idea of an electronic book and couldn’t believe such a thing would catch on.

Ah, silly me!

I love, love, love having almost my entire library—around 425 books right now—available at all times, no matter where I am. It wasn’t long before I realized I needed a cover to protect my Nook because I’m not teased for being clumsy for no reason. So I found this cute and retro looking cover and use it every day:

Isn’t it the cutest?

But here’s the real reason for today’s Sweet Saturday posting. Recently while shopping online for a dear friend’s birthday I saw a pillow made specifically to prop an e-reader (as well as “real” books) while reading. There were only two pink ones left, so I’m sure you can guess the rest: I bought both! One for my friend and one for me.

Sweet, huh? I’m not sure if there are any other brands available but this particular one is called a “Peeramid.” Here’s what it looks like with my closed Nook propped on it. And below you can see how it looks while I’m reading:

The pillow is very light and easy to hold in your lap or place on a table, the floor or on a footstool. Here’s a better look at it:

The rolled edges are perfect for propping any kind or size of book, e-book or tablet PC. You can see that there are two pockets that can hold bookmarks (if you’re reading a real book), pencils, pens or highlighters, or even reading glasses. Notice the braided rope with a tassel at the end—this can be used as a bookmark. Isn’t that clever?

The Peeramid can be found at Hog Wild Toys and Amazon.com as well as other retailers. They run between $25 – $35, depending on where you find it.

My daughter, Kathy, gave this purse to me after she used it awhile and decided it wasn’t really her style. Well, guess what? It is definitely me! And I really, really ♥ it!

Thanks again, Kathy, for gifting me with this purse and for sharing my love of things pink!
